ES&S Touch-Screen Votes Now Flipping in TX Too! Obama/DNC Attorneys Still AWOL!

BRAD-BLOG – This is just getting worse and worse. Now it’s happening in Texas. (And in MO, if you read to the end of the article). And the vaunted “thousands of attorneys” from the Obama campaign and the DNC are still nowhere to be found.

With every incident so far reported of touch-screen vote-flipping during early voting in this year’s general election — from county to county in WV and in Nashville, TN) — it’s been the ES&S iVotronic touch-screen machine that has failed, flipping votes from one candidate to another not chosen by the voter. In most every instances [see update below], it’s been an attempted Democratic vote, flipped to a Republican, or another party.

These are the same machines that lost 18,000 votes in Democratic-leaning Sarasota County in the 2006 U.S. House Race for Katherine Harris’ old seat. The Democrat, Christine Jennings, was declared the loser to Republican Vern Buchanan (whose own wife had trouble voting for him that day), by just 369 votes. Several academic studies, and even the GAO, have been unable to rule out either tampering or hardware/software error for the disappeared 18,000 votes.

Cindy Sheehan is running as an Independent against Nancy Pelosi in a very liberal district.  
The Speaker of the House can be defeated.  It has happened before.

I believe we should let George Bush get away with breaking the law because the attempt to hold him accountable wouldn’t be as useful as waiting for Barack Obama to maybe become President so he could maybe investigate Bush then.

As I see it now, we have but two options. The first and frankly most preferable option is for Congress to immediately begin impeachment proceedings.  The other option, is a total revolution. Put your party politics aside right now. We are in a crisis so dangerous that should these people succeed in their coup, your party affiliation will no longer matter, your American flag will be a nice collectible item of something that once was.

Here’s how the propaganda model works: Kucinich’s attempt to impeach the President elicited a mere 132 words in every major media outlet including the New York Times, Washington Post, and CNN.com.

Hold Bush, Cheney accountable

DAILY-JOURNAL – Despite the uncoming end of their terms it is crucial to the integrity and reputation of our great nation that we hold Bush and Cheney accountable for their crimes against the American people and humanity at large … we must practice what we preach to the world… Impeach Bush and Cheney.

It is never too late to do the right thing. We have some incredible messes to clean up from this administration … so we need to pull together as Americans and get busy “cleaning house.” The time is now.

On March 4, 2008, the citizens of Marlboro and Brattleboro, VT voted “to indict Bush and Cheney for crimes against our Constitution.”

I believe we should let George Bush get away with breaking the law because the attempt to hold him accountable wouldn’t be as useful as waiting for Barack Obama to maybe become President so he could maybe investigate Bush then.

As I see it now, we have but two options. The first and frankly most preferable option is for Congress to immediately begin impeachment proceedings.  The other option, is a total revolution. Put your party politics aside right now. We are in a crisis so dangerous that should these people succeed in their coup, your party affiliation will no longer matter, your American flag will be a nice collectible item of something that once was.

Here’s how the propaganda model works: Kucinich’s attempt to impeach the President elicited a mere 132 words in every major media outlet including the New York Times, Washington Post, and CNN.com.

The blogs are alive with the sound of Impeachment. The notices are rolling into my computer faster than I can open them, sign them and send them out to friends or family. That’s called activism, pushing back against this destructive force called Bush.

ADS – WINFIELD, W.Va. — Three Putnam County voters say electronic voting machines changed their votes from Democrats to Republicans when they cast early ballots last week.

This is the second West Virginia county where voters have reported this problem. Last week, three voters in Jackson County told The Charleston Gazette their electronic vote for “Barack Obama” kept flipping to “John McCain”.

I believe we should let George Bush get away with breaking the law because the attempt to hold him accountable wouldn’t be as useful as waiting for Barack Obama to maybe become President so he could maybe investigate Bush then.

As I see it now, we have but two options. The first and frankly most preferable option is for Congress to immediately begin impeachment proceedings.  The other option, is a total revolution. Put your party politics aside right now. We are in a crisis so dangerous that should these people succeed in their coup, your party affiliation will no longer matter, your American flag will be a nice collectible item of something that once was.

Here’s how the propaganda model works: Kucinich’s attempt to impeach the President elicited a mere 132 words in every major media outlet including the New York Times, Washington Post, and CNN.com.

Pro-Cindy Sheehan, Anti-Pelosi Rally This Thursday, 10/23, Noon-1 PM, SF Chronicle Building

TIME: Thursday, Oct 23, 12-1 pm

PLACE: In front of the San Francisco Chronicle Building, 901 Mission St., San Francisco. One block from Market Street and the Powell Street BART Station.

BRING: Your sign supporting Cindy Sheehan, denouncing Nancy Pelosi, or whatever you feel. Or just yourself – and your friends.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN: Every Thursday at noon since mid-September, a group of sign-carrying activists have been walking circles around the Chronicle Building, drawing attention to the Chronicle’s coddling of Nancy Pelosi, and its willful ignoring of the Cindy Sheehan campaign. On the 23rd, Cindy Sheehan (and perhaps other notables) will meet the media on the steps of the old Mint (just across the street). At 12:20, protesters will start walking circles around the Chronicle Building. Walking will continue for approx 20 minutes, allowing office workers time to get back to work.

Cindy Sheehan is running as an Independent against Nancy Pelosi in a very liberal district.

Thousands Face Mix-Ups In Voter Registrations

Thousands of voters across the country must reestablish their eligibility in the next three weeks in order for their votes to count on Nov. 4, a result of new state registration systems that are incorrectly rejecting them.

The challenges have led to a dozen lawsuits, testy arguments among state officials and escalating partisan battles. Because many voters may not know that their names have been flagged, eligibility questions could cause added confusion on Election Day, beyond the delays that may come with a huge turnout.

I believe we should let George Bush get away with breaking the law because the attempt to hold him accountable wouldn’t be as useful as waiting for Barack Obama to maybe become President so he could maybe investigate Bush then.

As I see it now, we have but two options. The first and frankly most preferable option is for Congress to immediately begin impeachment proceedings.  The other option, is a total revolution. Put your party politics aside right now. We are in a crisis so dangerous that should these people succeed in their coup, your party affiliation will no longer matter, your American flag will be a nice collectible item of something that once was.

Here’s how the propaganda model works: Kucinich’s attempt to impeach the President elicited a mere 132 words in every major media outlet including the New York Times, Washington Post, and CNN.com.

The blogs are alive with the sound of Impeachment. The notices are rolling into my computer faster than I can open them, sign them and send them out to friends or family. That’s called activism, pushing back against this destructive force called Bush.

Two Parties: One Corporate Master

The presidential campaign trail morphed into the comedy circuit as John McCain and Barack Obama went more for laughs than the jugular in what was expected to be the corporate candidates’ last joint appearance before Election Day.

The two campaigns largely took a break from their attempts to verbally knee-cap each other for a few hours at the annual Al Smith Dinner, a charity fundraiser that has traditionally drawn the presidential corporate candidates* into a temporary truce.

I believe we should let George Bush get away with breaking the law because the attempt to hold him accountable wouldn’t be as useful as waiting for Barack Obama to maybe become President so he could maybe investigate Bush then.

As I see it now, we have but two options. The first and frankly most preferable option is for Congress to immediately begin impeachment proceedings.  The other option, is a total revolution. Put your party politics aside right now. We are in a crisis so dangerous that should these people succeed in their coup, your party affiliation will no longer matter, your American flag will be a nice collectible item of something that once was.

Trump: Bush should have been impeached

WASHINGTON (AFP) – Property mogul and diehard Republican Donald Trump told CNN on Wednesday that President George W. Bush misled the US into the Iraq War and should have been impeached when the Democrats took control of Congress in 2006.

“I was surprised that she didn’t do more in terms of Bush and going after Bush,” Trump said in an interview with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, referring to Democrat House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

“It … just seemed like she was going to really look to impeach Bush and get him out of office, which personally I think would have been a wonderful thing.“

Trump Should Be Fired as a Citizen

OEN – What sort of a slow learner is Trump?  The war lies began in September 2001.  A major impeachment movement began despite lacking any serious source of funding in May 2005. Pelosi swore she would never impeach no matter what in May 2006.  Congress members like Dennis Kucinich and Robert Wexler tried to force the issue through 2007 and 2008.  And what did Trump do?  Did he provide us funding to hire organizers?  Did he fund independent media or polling companies that would report the news?  Did he show his face at a single antiwar event?  Did he breathe one word in public?

Cheney Experiences Abnormal Heart Rhythm

AP – Vice President Dick Cheney experienced an abnormal heart beat Wednesday morning, went to the White House physician and scheduled a hospital visit to “restore his normal rhythm.”

For the 67-year-old Cheney, who canceled a campaign event he was to attend later Wednesday in Illinois, it will be the second time in less than a year that he will have the cardiological procedure.

The vice president’s office said that after experiencing a problem, Cheney saw the White House physician. It was discovered there that he was experiencing a recurrence of atrial fibrillation, an abnormal rhythm involving the upper chambers of the heart, said Megan Mitchell, a Cheney spokeswoman.

I believe we should let George Bush get away with breaking the law because the attempt to hold him accountable wouldn’t be as useful as waiting for Barack Obama to maybe become President so he could maybe investigate Bush then.

As I see it now, we have but two options. The first and frankly most preferable option is for Congress to immediately begin impeachment proceedings.  The other option, is a total revolution. Put your party politics aside right now. We are in a crisis so dangerous that should these people succeed in their coup, your party affiliation will no longer matter, your American flag will be a nice collectible item of something that once was.

Here’s how the propaganda model works: Kucinich’s attempt to impeach the President elicited a mere 132 words in every major media outlet including the New York Times, Washington Post, and CNN.com.

The blogs are alive with the sound of Impeachment. The notices are rolling into my computer faster than I can open them, sign them and send them out to friends or family. That’s called activism, pushing back against this destructive force called Bush.

I believe we should let George Bush get away with breaking the law because the attempt to hold him accountable wouldn’t be as useful as waiting for Barack Obama to maybe become President so he could maybe investigate Bush then.

As I see it now, we have but two options. The first and frankly most preferable option is for Congress to immediately begin impeachment proceedings.  The other option, is a total revolution. Put your party politics aside right now. We are in a crisis so dangerous that should these people succeed in their coup, your party affiliation will no longer matter, your American flag will be a nice collectible item of something that once was.

Here’s how the propaganda model works: Kucinich’s attempt to impeach the President elicited a mere 132 words in every major media outlet including the New York Times, Washington Post, and CNN.com.

Ban the Torture Ray

The Active Denial System (ADS)* is a non-lethal, directed-energy weapon developed by the U.S. military. It is a strong millimeter-wave transmitter used for crowd control (the “goodbye effect”). Informally, the weapon is also called pain ray.

The ADS works by directing electromagnetic radiation, specifically, high-frequency microwave radiation at a frequency of 95 GHz (a wavelength of 3.2 mm), toward the subjects. The waves excite water molecules in the epidermis to around 130 °F (55 °C), causing an intensely painful sensation of extreme heat. While not actually burning the skin, the burning sensation is similar to that of a light bulb being pressed against the skin.  The focused beam can be directed at targets at a range of just under half a kilometer, or about 550 yards. The device can penetrate thick clothing, although not walls.

Army Orders Pain Ray Trucks; New Report Shows ‘Potential for Death’

After years of testing, the Active Denial System — the pain ray which drives off rioters with a microwave-like beam — could finally have its day. The Army is buying five of the truck-mounted systems for $25 million. But the energy weapon may face new hurdles, before it’s shipped off to the battlefield; a new report details how the supposedly non-lethal blaster could be turned into a flesh-frying killer.

The contract for the pain ray trucks is “expected to be awarded by year’s end,” Aviation Week notes. “A year after the contract is signed, the combination vehicle/weapons will start be fielded at the rate of one per month.”

It’s been a very long time coming. As we’ve previously reported, there have been calls to deploy the Active Denial System in Iraq going back to 2004. But it’s always been delayed for legal, political, and public relations reasons. Anything that might be condemned as torture is political dynamite.

Palin protest at state Capitol

Juneau residents staged a protest in front of the state Capitol on Saturday, urging the rest of the country to say “thanks but no thanks” to Gov. Sarah Palin’s campaign to be vice president.

“We are the constituents who know what her actions have been, what her behavior has been … and we cannot tolerate that for the vice president of the United States,” said the event’s organizer Jeannette Lacey.

About 200 people attended the hour-long event that featured a number of speakers who denounced Palin’s record on abortion, Alaska Native issues, gay rights, the environment and other issues.

Report Implicates White House — E-Mails Hint at Involvement in Prosecutor Firings, Officials Say

WAPO – In 18 months of searching, Justice Department Inspector General Glenn A. Fine and Office of Professional Responsibility chief H. Marshall Jarrett have uncovered new e-mail messages hinting at heightened involvement of White House lawyers and political aides in the firings of nine federal prosecutors two years ago.

But they could not probe much deeper because key officials declined to be interviewed and a critical timeline drafted by the White House was so heavily redacted that it was “virtually worthless as an investigative tool,” the authorities said.

“We were unable to fully develop the facts regarding the removal of [David C.] Iglesias and several other U.S. Attorneys because of the refusal by certain key witnesses to be interviewed by us, as well as the White House’s decision not to provide . . . internal documents to us,” the investigators concluded in their report.

The standoff is a central reason that Attorney General Michael B. Mukasey on Monday named a veteran public-corruption prosecutor, Nora R. Dannehy, to continue the investigation, directing her to give him a preliminary report on the status of the case in 60 days.

But lawmakers who helped expose irregularities in the ouster of the prosecutors say they are concerned about more delays.

HUFFPO – As I see it now, we have but two options and I have long alluded to hoping against hope that one of these options would not be the only one left to a peaceful people. The first and frankly most preferable option is for Congress to immediately begin impeachment proceedings against the members of this latest Business Plot.

No time needs to be wasted on hearings as we already now have in writing, formally as presented to Congress, the intentions of this administration to nullify Congressional powers permanently, to alter Judicial powers permanently, and to openly steal public funds using as blackmail the total collapse of the US economy if these powers are not handed over. You do see how this is blackmail, do you not? You do see how this is a manufactured crisis precisely designed to be used as blackmail, do you not?

The other option, the one I have long prayed we would never need to even consider, is a total revolution. But, If Congress won’t act in its own self-defense, in the defense of democracy, in defense of us – the people who have elected them to protect us from this very danger – then what is left for us to do? I don’t want to see it come down to this, but I fear that it will. Put your party politics aside right now. We are in a crisis so dangerous that should these people succeed in their coup, your party affiliation will no longer matter, your American flag will be a nice collectible item of something that once was, and your version of God will be worshiped in secrecy because your freedoms will be owned by the few.

You are no longer Republicans, Democrats, or any shade of voter. You do not live in a swing state or a solid colored state. You are simply this: an American. That is the only side that matters. So call your members of Congress and demand, no, declare that unless they do their duty to the Constitution and to us, we will move to the streets – not because we want to, but because our founding fathers demanded this duty of each and every citizen in the face of such a domestic enemy. Demand – as is your right – that this bill be voted against and demand – as is your right – that the people plotting this treachery be held to account. We are either a nation of laws or we are no longer a democracy. Pick a side, because there won’t be another time, another moment, another chance to be a patriot.

Let me begin by noting that I loathe what the Democratic Party has become. Wanna know why Nancy Pelosi put “Impeachment off the table?” Because the Democrats are complicit in the Imperial assault on Iraq? Simple. Top Democrats were pre-briefed on the CIA forgeries used as “evidence” of Iraq’s ties to Al-Qaeda. The Ds said nothing in opposition and went along. That’s only one of their damnable failings re: Iraq.

Add to all that the Clinton/Gore and their many Democratic Party Congressional allies sorry roles in the deregulation of Telecommunications and Finance, the out-sourcing of America’s jobs and industrial infrastructure, and a raft of assaults on the working/Middle Class and one has to see Clinton/Gore and Democrats of late, in general, as a very successful arrow in the quiver of the elites – in a very one-sided “Class War.” Clinton/Gore actually rammed through NAFTA and other corporate wet dreams that Bush the Elder failed on.

Surprise! Congress Listened to the Voting Public!

The most entertaining thing about this Wall Street crisis and the refusal of the House of Representatives (not failure but refusal) to pass a bailout bill negotiated by the Bush White House and the House leadership is how shocked and upset those leaders and the pundit class have been by the idea that members of Congress would actually heed the wishes of their constituents!

The Founding Fathers always saw the lower house of Congress as voice of the people-the elected body that, because its members had to face the voters every two years, would be most responsive to public sentiment.

Because of the power of money and the role of the corporate media in filtering the information that voters get about what is actually going on, that close connection between public and public servant in the House has long ago broken down. This time, however, because the crisis hit within five weeks of the national election, and because the crisis involved something that everyone cares about-their money-it worked.

Cindy Sheehan is running as an Independent against Nancy Pelosi in a very liberal district.
